PSA reported that Tuas Port reached 10 million TEU in February 2025, following the start of operations in September 2022. Its technology documentation describes electric AGVs for horizontal transport between the wharf and yard, coordinated with fleet management and crane automation.
An autonomous vehicle alone cannot remove waiting between cranes, storage locations and vessel schedules. Tasks need to flow from the terminal operating system to vehicles and return as confirmed work.
Define one controlled container route with clear pickup and drop-off points. Measure waiting and cycle times, and agree what happens when a container is not ready, a vehicle stops or a route is blocked. Tuas is a global reference, not a COCON project or affiliation.
