Amazon announced its millionth robot on 30 June 2025, delivered to a fulfilment centre in Japan, across a network of more than 300 facilities. It also introduced DeepFleet and reported a 10% improvement in fleet travel-time efficiency. That is Amazon’s claim, not a universal benchmark.
As fleets grow, queues at intersections, busy destinations and simultaneous charging can become bottlenecks. Adding robots may increase congestion if station readiness and priorities are not addressed.
Start with two AMRs sharing a single drop-off. Schedule access, provide a waiting position and log delays during busy periods. The lesson is to evaluate coordination using operational data. DeepFleet itself is Amazon technology and is not being offered as a COCON product.
