DJI launched Dock 3 in February 2025 for remote operations, including vehicle-mounted configurations. It works with Matrice 4D or 4TD aircraft and FlightHub 2 for automated routes. The 4TD adds thermal imaging to the available inspection capabilities.
A dock can help repeat a route, but useful inspection still needs an asset list, capture plan and review process. A thermal image, for example, needs interpretation in the context of the equipment and operating conditions.
Start with one defined inspection route. Evaluate image consistency, weather interruptions, connectivity and the time needed to deliver a reviewed report. Confirm the aircraft configuration and operating permissions for that location before moving from a demonstration to routine flights.
